LAZY MD ARABIANS
Melissa Barter-Bradley
Melissa Barter-Bradley hails from Arco, Idaho and an Arabian Show Family. Her father, mother, and two older brothers all competed and/or trained Arabians locally and nationally. Her father was a well-known Arabian horse breeder of 375 Arabians, some of which went on to win local, regional, and national championships.
Melissa starting riding at the grand age, of three with competitive riding beginning at the ripe old age of four. Her first ribbon, a fourth place, was won ridding English at age six. Age eight found Melissa apprenticing under Pat Richardson of Oregon. Melissa soon found out what no TV, NO candy, and NO messing around meant. She attributes a lot of her horse knowledge to the superior training experiences of this apprenticeship.
Melissa attended Idaho State University on a basketball scholarship, and coached high school basketball for 10 years after graduation. She loves sports, and is adept at skiing, volleyball, softball and pretty much anything you throw at her.
During her school/teaching years, Melissa continued showing horses in all disciplines, her favorite being English.
Melissa became a professional horse trainer 11 years ago. She and her clients have continued to win titles in all disciplines.
In addition to the local and Regional wins, Melissa has:
• Three National Championships
• 4 Reserve National Championships
• Multi National Top Tens
